As the water temperatures decrease fish will become less active and their diet should be changed to a wheat germ food.During the winter months when the water is cold it is not necessary to feed your fish.

During the winter months when your pond freezes over it is necessary to maintian an air exchange for your fish. In smaller ponds or areas without extreem cold a pond heater or de-icer is recommended. For larger ponds an air pump is recommended. Never chip away ice from your pond, pour warm water on it to create an opening and then install your de-icer or air pump.
