Discount Pond and Water Garden Supplies
The summer season is here, and ponds are alive and swimming with activity. New plant growth having shown its head is now blooming in brilliant color and our fish are more energetic, swimming all about the pond. This is a season of great change in fishponds and water gardens. We are here to help you and your pond transition into the warm weather season.
A sound pond is a happy pond and
beneficial bacteria helps to create a sound environment. By breaking down organic debris and seeding biological filters, bacteria reduces pond toxicity. A toxic pond may have a noxious odor and poor water quality can be harmful to pond life. Safe for fishponds, bacteria used consistently throughout the summer season will improve water quality.
After a long season of hibernation, your fish are very hungry. We offer many different
fish foods for this time of year – color enhancers, growth food, summer staples (in sticks and pellets, even sinking), and all fish love them, treats. Both large pellet and small, for smaller fish, is available.
Are you having a problem seeing your fish through green water? Algae bloom can be a nuisance for any pond owner. There are many elements that create pond algae and there are several different treatments to get rid of it including
algaecides,
barley – in bales, pellets or liquid extract form, and
ultraviolet (UV) lighting. A little algae will not harm fish, however excessive quantities is unhealthy to them, and not a very pretty sight for you to see.
