The Hozelock Cyprio Trinamic three stage cleaning process begins by passing pond water through venturis which add air into the water. The water then enters into the filter chamber where it vigorously flushes through Kaldnes K3 bio-media. Beneficial bacteria contained in K3 break down soluble pollutants efficiently. Dead bacteria, algae and pond debris are then removed via a "moving bed" that rotates inside the filter into second stage cleaning where the water passes through foam media removing any solid debris. In stage three, the water passes down through the foam media into a quiet space filled with bacteria packed Cypripak bio-media. Water is then returned back into the pond.

Filter maintenance is made easy with an indicator that lets you know when the filter foams require cleaning and a plunging tool (provided) to do the cleaning - no foam removal required and no dirty, wet hands. After cleaning, flush sludge from foam out sludge drain. As an option, hose and gate valve (sold separately) can be attached to sludge outlet.
