Pressure-Flo uses both a mechanical and biological filtration process to clean pond water. With the filter connected to the pump, water enters the unit through a water inlet. Water then passes through the mechanical filtration stage, consisting of foam filters that intercept and trap dirt and debris. Next, the water enters a biological filtration chamber (except PF700) where it comes into contact with Biospheres bio-media which harbor beneficial bacteria that keeps the water healthy. Dirt free water then passes along an integrated UVC lamp, where it is exposed to ultraviolet rays that inhibit the growth of single celled algae organisms. Filtered water returns back into the pond.
Pressure-Flo features a revolutionary backwash cleaning system. Backwash cleaning is done minutes, and external cleaning handles make for easy cleaning without opening filter lid. Two cleaning blades remove debris from filter foam. An easy view cleaning indicator lets you know when backwash cleaning is needed.
