One of the most important factors to a healthy aquatic feature is proper water circulation.  Pump sizing is determined by many variables, including pond volume and other supported water features such as waterfalls, fountains, and water spitters.  A properly sized pump should operate 24 hours a day, and at a minimum, circulate the pond volume once every two hours.
