To reduce heating time and save electricity the Pond De-Icer is thermostatically controlled. The unique doughnut shape design maintains an ice free center area that allows the accumulated toxic gases to escape from the trapped pond water. This promotes a healthier pond environment for aquatic life.
The Pondmaster Floating Pond De-Icer is designed for ponds up to 2,000 gallons in size.
USAGE: Place heater where it is easily accessible. Leave De-Icer alone, do not move or disturb heater during the winter. It is normal for ice to buildup around the sides of the heater, this will not crush unit.
IMPORTANT: Should your pond freeze over, NEVER chip or chop at pond ice. This is hazardous to fish health. Simply pour warm water over ice to melt open hole.
