What is a Thermoplanter?
An innovative new tool for the water gardener that will greatly extend the growing season of tropical water lilies. Allows for you to place the plant outdoors 4 to 6 weeks earlier in the spring and adds several weeks to the end of the season. Makes overwintering plants easy so you can enjoy the same plant for years.
The Thermoplanter makes tropicals easy.
Why do I need one?
Will give you larger plants with a much longer growing season and more blooms. An easy way to overwinter plants from Florida to Maine.
How does it work?
The Thermoplanter uses a patented design that creates a micro-climate around the plant. This will allow you to grow tropical water lilies effortlessly while only heating a tiny portion of your pond.
How much does it cost to operate?
At .12¢ per kilowatt hour, the cost is about $2 a month to operate. The planter uses 70 watts and is thermostatically controlled.
Will Thermoplanter allow me to overwinter my tropical water lily in an outdoor pond?
Typically tropical water lilies can winter outdoors in USDA agricultural zone7 or higher. In zones 6 and lower, the plant should be brought indoors to winter on a window sill or in an area with good natural or artificial light.
Will the Thermoplanter work with other aquatic plants?
Yes, try some marginal plants such as Taro, Papyrus, Canna and Umbrella Palm. If your water garden has room, try growing the exotic Victoria water lily (Needs about a 12’x12’ surface area). And Dwarf Lotus grows beautifully in the planter (Note: Full size lotus grow too large for planter and are not recommended).
I don’t have a water garden, will the Thermoplanter work in a patio pond?
The Thermoplanter works great in patio ponds. In a small patio pond it will raise the water temperature enough to allo you to grow other tropical plants creating your own little paradise.
